Style cocktails like a boss

You don't have to be an actual bartender or food stylist in order to style cocktails. Whether you like to keep it simple or have the more-is-more approach, whipping up your guests' fave cocktails is all the more fun when you add funky and colorful garnishes. As long as you're having fun with it and using your imagination, you really can't go wrong! Yes you can do a simple garnish, but making it 'extra' is a surefire way to put a smile on anyone's face. As Trader Vic once said: "It's the package that sells the stuff."

Experience aloha with every sip by using some of the following garnishes:

Zesty citrus
Citrus is the most common ingredient and lemon and lime are your go to fruits. Cut either a wheel, wedge (cut lengthways) or a twist (peel a strip and twist around a straw to curl before adding). You can also use your grater to add some zest. Oranges add a pop of color to any glass.

Fruity fun
A pineapple wedge will add instant tropical feels. Star fruits (if you can find them!) are showstoppers, and any type of berry or cherry will add a splash of color. Kiwi or dragonfruit slices also look fab.

Flowers & fruit leaves
Pineapple leaves are my fave to add; just take them off a fresh pineapple and trim. Usually, three next to each other look cool. Edible flowers are also a nice touch, but not always easy to scout in your supermarket. You can also use faux frangipani to top off your cocktail for that ultimate tropical vibe.

Herbs & spices
These will smell nice and a mint sprig is always a good idea. Cinnamon sticks can also be used depending on the cocktail, and nutmeg can add some spice to your cocktail.

Top off your cocktail with a colorful straw, swizzle or bamboo stick, umbrella, and serve up some fun!
